Amended Complaint Filed
Republic of Serbian Krajina Added as Plaintiff
San Francisco: Attorneys for plaintiffs in Alperin v. Vatican Bank a lawsuit seeking recovery of looted assets from Yugoslavia during the Second World War have filed a proposed amended version of the complaint.
The amended complaint, which is awaiting the court’s approval, brings the case in line with the recent decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals that focuses on the conversion of stolen assets from Yugoslavia by the Vatican Bank and Franciscan Order.
The Republic of Serbian Krajina is the exile government of Krajina, which was overrun by Croatian forces in 1995 and 1998 and is currently based in Zemun, Serbia under the government of Premier Milorad Buha.
